Here are some of our most frequently-asked questions about Campdowne. We hope you find them useful. If you have any unanswered questions please email us.
- When can we arrive?
- Arrival is on 1 August between 9.30am and 4.30pm. Please remember that you will need to cook your evening meal and be ready for the opening ceremony at approx. 8pm.
- When do we depart?
- Departure is on 10 August between 10am and 3pm. We will need to know your departure time so that we can ensure access to your vehicles.
- What food is provided?
- We provide all the food for you to self-cater. Your first meal will be on the evening on 1 August and your last meal will be breakfast on the 10 August. All staff are catered for and meals will be available during the set-up and take- down period.
- I’ve paid my deposit, what next?
- Once you complete your online payment of £150 for your group’s deposit, we will confirm receipt of this within 10 days.
You will also be sent a unique login which will give you access to all the forms and information you need to read and complete for the event.
You will need to ensure that your remaining balance is paid in full on or before the 30 May 2013 through the same online process.
Of course, if you have any questions or require any further information not covered in the downloadable materials or FAQs in the run up to Campdowne, do get in touch.
- If I bring a vehicle where can I park it?
- All vehicles should be parked in our long-stay car park. You won’t be allowed to drive around or on and off the centre during the event.
- May I choose a subcamp?
- We are happy for you to request a subcamp, however we cannot guarantee that it will be possible to accommodate all requests.
- Can we link up with a UK group before arrival/Can we volunteer to host an international group?
- We encourage groups from the UK to link up with our international groups; camping together and providing camping and cooking equipment. If you are interested in hosting a group then please let us know. This enables all participants to fully experience the international aspect of the event. Many groups from 2008 have held exchange visits as a result of these links.
- Can you organise home hospitality?
- We are able to supply a limited amount of home hospitality after the event. Please let us know if your group requires this.
- Can you provide transport?
- We are able to arrange transport from all points of entry into England. There will be an additional cost involved and this must be booked with us and paid for at least two months prior to the event.
- Do I need to complete health forms online?
- We do not need you to complete health forms online. These should be completed just before the event so that they are as up to date as possible. You MUST bring two copies with you, one for the participant to carry on them at all times and one to be retained by the group leader.
No one will be allowed access to the event without a completed health form.
